1164 new Covid cases kill two in Canterbury

There are 1164 new community cases of Covid-19 in the Canterbury region, with two deaths to report.

In a statement this afternoon, the Ministry of Health stated that there were 6,460 community cases, 423 current hospitalizations and 20 deaths nationwide.

The 7-day moving average of the number of cases in the community today is 6825.

According to the ministry, 19 people died in the last three days, one occurred on June 22, bringing the total number of deaths publicly reported on Covid to 1549, a seven-day move of reported deaths. The average is 14 people.

Recent deaths include 2 from South Canterbury, 5 from the Southern DHB region, 5 from the Auckland region, 2 from the Bay of Plenty, 1 from Waikato, Lakes, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Midcentral and Nelson Marlboro. Includes people.

There were 5 people in their 70s, 6 people in their 80s, and 9 people over 90 years old. Of these, 9 were women and 11 were men.
