50-year-old man stabbed to death outside Uxbridge supermarket

A

man stabbed to death outside a supermarket in Uxbridge.

The victim, believed to be in his 50s, was found by police at 7 p.m. Wednesday with a stab wound to his chest in The Greenway.

A man in his forties turned himself in to a local police station shortly afterwards and was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in custody.

Photos seen by The Standard show a man lying on the floor, his shirt covered in blood.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of Cowley Road and The Greenway, Uxbridge.

“Officers attended, along with the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance. A man, believed to be in his fifties, was found with a stab wound.

“Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene. His next of kin have yet to be informed.”

In Ilford, a man in his twenties was rushed to hospital after an attack in Ilford Lane at 6:30 pm.

Police say they are waiting for an update on his condition and said there have been no arrests.
