Jason Mamoa plays outlaw trapper Declan Harp, who wages war against the Hudson’s Bay Company in this Canadian drama. In the 18th century, the Hudson’s Bay Company had a monopoly on the fur trade, which doesn’t sit well with Harp. He soon invites the wrath of Lord Benton, who attempts to restore the company’s reputation by wiping out Harp’s operation. But Benton won’t be able to win without a fight.

When the head of the most powerful crime family in London is murdered, a huge power vacuum is created and many people are eager to fill it. Among them is the hot-headed son of the late crime boss, whose power play is making waves in the very global world of organized crime.

Perhaps an unlikely inclusion on this list as it deals with fairy tales and the supernatural, Carnival Row is a good addition to Peaky Blinders nonetheless. In an alternate history, mythical creatures now live among humans and are treated as second-class citizens. Fae gangs take care of themselves, and among them is an elf woman with a complicated romantic past with a half-fae man who works as a cop who sympathizes with the immigrant fairy as he tries to solve a series of murders.

Another supernatural show like Peaky Blinders, Penny Dreadful is a dark and gritty take on numerous Gothic tales like Frankenstein and The Picture of Dorian Gray. Set in England a little before Peaky Blinders, in the late 1800s, the series sees a group of characters come together to help a young woman who is being chased by a monster. One of the protagonists, an American named Ethan Chandler, is hunted by inspectors who find him guilty of grizzly murders, as he conspires against evil forces with his newfound comrades.
