Former London mayor Ken Livingstone has been threatened with castration by a thug who went out with his daughter, a court heard.

Layton Poore, 20, met Mia Livingstone during an evening out at a club on Tottenham Court Road in London, but he soon became ‘aggressive and controlling’.

Ms Livingstone, then 17, described how Poore burned her arm on February 13 at the Livingstone home with a cigarette lighter, The Evening Standard reported.

She accused him of leaving her with ‘painful bruises’ and eventually called police, Harrow Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Nicola Merrick said: “He made threats against her and said he was going to hurt her, kill her and kill her family.

“He said he was going to cut off her father’s penis, he was going to come to the house and injure her and her family, and also destroy the family’s house.”

Poore, of Glen Parva, near Leicester, pleaded guilty to assault that caused actual bodily harm and witness intimidation and was sentenced to 31 weeks in prison.

Judge Lana Wood also imposed a three-year restraining order prohibiting Poore from contacting Mr Livingstone, 77, his wife Emma Beal and Mia, now 18.

In an impact statement, Ms Livingstone told the court: “He always hurt me, hit me, left painful bruises on me, he spat on me.”

Ms Merrick continued: “They dealt with it quickly, and Mia took the defendant to her family home, where she lives with her parents.”

Ms Merrick described the burning incident and said: ‘They smoked and he used up her cigarettes.

“When she indicated that she was not particularly happy that he was smoking her cigarettes, he held a lighter on her right arm, which caused a burn mark on it.”

She added: “He said he was going to put her head and members of her family’s heads on sticks and kill her family and castrate her father.”
