A teenage tourist died tragically falling 50 feet after slipping beside the pool trying to balance.
Joshua James Connell, 19, was tragically collapsed six floors down from the hotel roof on Thursday, June 30, while on vacation in Thailand.
He was last seen on CCTV on June 30th as he was walking along the wall next to the pool at the Paripas Paton Resort in Phuket.
Disastrous footage showed him throwing his hand into the air as he pointed his toes at a thin white rail while balancing. When he reached the end of the rail, he slipped and fell.
Shocked locals found Joshua dead on the tin roof of a cafe under the hotel at around 5:45 pm local time.
Originally from Canberra, Australia, Joshua was rushed to the hospital, but was soon sentenced to death after being seriously injured in the fall.
Local resident Nin Tanya Pawn, preparing to open a street restaurant across the road from the fall, said:
“I thought the car crashed or there was an explosion in the kitchen.
“People gathered around the restaurant and saw a foreign man on the roof. Someone called an ambulance because he was unconscious. Everyone was shocked that he fell and died. “
Lieutenant Colonel Kokiat Boonprod said he had received an emergency call from the hotel about a foreign man who had fallen.
Lieutenant Colonel Kokiat, who is leading the investigation, said:
“The roof of the restaurant hut was shattered and there were some tiles on the floor.”
Police officers said they confirmed the CCTV from the hotel and did not believe anyone else was involved in the death.
