BRIT was smashed in a hospital cell for 18 days on Mallorca after suffering a rare illness and accidentally taking a vacation.
Colin Cain from Whitby, Yorkshire was picked up by police and detained at Son Espases Hospital in Palma on the day he was due to return home.

York-based real estate developers and landlords have been in and out of doctors since December due to mysterious insect breathing problems.
His GP put it on a chest infection and gave him antibiotics-and sent him along the way without instructing him not to travel.

Colin tested positive for tuberculosis, a disease that infects only 4,000 people annually in the UK, and was not advised to travel according to NHS advice.
He knew little about the diagnosis being imprisonment, and he was about to be put in a hospital cell without air conditioning for the next three weeks.
The order eventually cost him £ 3,500 to relocate the flight, and his wife was able to stay in Spain.
Colin’s GP notified the British Health and Security Agency of his diagnosis, and shortly after the Spanish authorities, followed him at the hotel where he was staying with his wife and took both to a medical test. I did.
But when he arrived at the hospital, the 58-year-old had a panic attack-he said there were no translators available, and he didn’t know what tests the doctor was doing to him. ..
So he left and walked for two hours in the heat of Spain to a secret place where he met his wife.
Suddenly, Colin said he was ordered to return to the hospital, and police were reported to have arrived to insist that they return to the hospital by ambulance under escort.
The pair finally agreed and came back the next day.
They were offered a cup of coffee, but each underwent a full-body examination for 6 hours in a hospital room where there was no water.
Julie said they were given little information and were desperately looking for tuberculosis on her phone to resolve the risk.
Finally, the doctor confirmed the diagnosis of a British doctor-Julie was clear, but Colin did have tuberculosis.
Colin was kept overnight in a hospital room protected by two police officers for an attempt to escape the day before.

But at midnight he was taken to a secret cell in the hospital.
Colin said: “The doctor came with the nurse. They said you need to come with us. We are actually putting you in a better room.
“The next moment they slammed the door and locked it, and that was it.
“They said they took off the strip and gave me a nightie. They took everything except my phone.
“You can’t open the windows for ventilation, and they turned off the air conditioner.
“I was in this room for 18 days. I didn’t have any cigarettes or beer. It was hell.”

The hospital is said to have stopped the air with choline cells to prevent his infection from spreading through the ventilation system to the rest of the building.
And the windows did not open and remained baked in the heat of Spain in his turn in May.
Colin was initially told that she needed to be quarantined for three to five days, but had a hard time communicating clearly with Spanish hospital staff.
The doctor then told Colin that he would have to stay until he got a clear test.
Colin was accustomed to smoking 40 cigarettes a day and drinking beer, so he provided a nicotine patch and gave him a tuberculosis drug.

Colin said he was given a “horrible” meal that he took a picture of to send to a friend before flushing the toilet.

“If it weren’t for the fact that Julie was there every day, I would have lost it,” he added.
“I would happily and happily jump out of that window and get out of it dead or alive.”
Eventually, Colin was explicitly tested and allowed to leave. He went home a few days later, three weeks after his first return flight, with about £ 3,500 poor Julie from the trials.
