Score and latest updates from Wimbledon third round

Wwelcome to further coverage of Wimbledon featuring Liam Broady, Coco Gauff and Nick Kyrgios in action.

Broady lost 11 games in a row in his second-round draw against 12th-seeded Diego Schwartzman and looked set to become the last home player to leave the championship after the shocking defeats of Murray and Raducanu on Wednesday.

But the world No. 132 fought back to stun the Argentine in five sets in three hours and 47 minutes.

“I think it was running through my mind a bit yesterday,” the 28-year-old explained. “I saw some things online about Emma and Andy’s results.

“Tennis is ultimately a lottery. That’s why people look at it. It’s never a guarantee of who will win. Those guys both came up against in-form players and unfortunately didn’t get the job done.”

“But I actually wanted a small result for the British players themselves to give us something to hold on to.”

The win for Broady sent him through to the third round in a major for the first time, having previously lost twice in round two at Wimbledon.

In a normal year, he would have earned 90 ranking points so far and would be on the cusp of breaking into the top 100, but after Wimbledon decided to ban Russian and Belarus players due to the invasion of Ukraine, the ATP points of this tournament.

Broady laughed off any frustration, adding: “That would be my highest points jump, I think.

“I’m losing 45 points from last year, so I think I’m probably going to drop to 150 now!

“But honestly, I’m just grateful that I made it to the third round of Wimbledon. I would play Wimbledon with no points and no prize money.”

Also in action at Court 1 is Kyrgios, who takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas in what should be a highly entertaining clash.

And we’ll also be covering Rafael Nadal vs Lorenzo Sonego game-by-game.
