Arsenal 5-1 Ipswich: Eddie Nketiah records a hat-trick at the start of the preseason

Striker ended his future by signing a new long-term contract last month, and speculation fluttered over the iconic No. 14 shirt most famously worn by club legend Thierry Henry.

And Henry’s prowess seems to be scraping Nketiah. He scored three goals within 35 minutes and assisted Sambi Lokonga’s fourth goal in the action-packed first half of London Colney.

Folarin Balogun added a fifth point after the break, before Sone Aluko comforted Ipswich.

All the players who participated in the Gunners were those who had not appeared in the end-of-season international and returned to pre-season training this week.

Thomas Partey, Ben White, Nicolas Pepe and others all started the game, and returnees Héctor Bellerin, Ainsley Maitland Niles and Reiss Nelson also played in 45 minutes.

Arsenal on Monday will leave for Germany as the pre-season with Nuremberg continues on Friday, July 8th.
