Plenty of new goodies have been released this month for beauty lovers.

From playful makeup to updates on skincare classics and new brands, style editor Zoe Walker Ahwa shares a few recent beauty launches.

Sisley Phyto-Ombre Eclat Liquide 6.5ml, $75

This iridescent liquid eyeshadow comes in six shades, with a shimmer or satin finish, which can be layered for a more intense look or subtle as a pop of color. With a velvety texture, they can also be used as a subtle highlight on the brow bone – a versatile product for the beauty kit.

Dermalogica Daily Milkfoliant, $119

I’m a big fan of Dermalogica’s Microfoliant, the brand’s rice-based exfoliating powder that feels like it actually does something. This is kind of a gentler sister product: made with oats and coconut and other soothing goodness, the powder turns milky when combined with water and removes dead skin cells.

Flamingo Estate Garden Essentials Hand Soap, $72

Buzzy bath and body brand Flamingo Estate is new to New Zealand: The actual spot, a dreamy three-acre urban ranch in Los Angeles owned by Australian-born Richard Christiansen, has been described as “a home for radical pleasure”.

It’s that ethos that informs the brand, which draws on the “California cool” feel inspired by being barefoot (and rich) in nature and offers plant-based body oils, scrubs, lotions, and washes in addition to scented candles (as well as, in LA, Instagrammable vegetable boxes) . The rustic soaps are at the heart of the brand – one of its earliest products – including the Garden Essentials line that is scented with rosemary leaf, blood orange, lemon and lavender.

Stila Stay All Day Dual-ended Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, $49

Depending on your age range, this periwinkle/midnight eyeliner will remind you of the Spice Girls in 1997 or Euphoria around now.

The liquid liner has an ultra-thin, sharp point on one side and a thicker yet graphic option on the other, so you can experiment with the matching shades for a playful look.

Clarins Eau Extraordinaire Treatment Fragrance, $88

A spicy floral and fruity “aromatherapy fragrance” that combines the power of essential oils to invigorate and plant extracts to help and hydrate the skin. Plus, it looks great on the sideboard, in bold green.

Dior Beauty La Collection Privee Eden-Roc 125ml, $410

It’s both a blessing and a curse that our beauty seasons are the opposite of the rest of the world: As brands in the Northern Hemisphere embrace collections that hint at the sun, sand and sea, we’re here in the middle of winter.

Enter Dior’s latest fragrance collection Dioriviera, inspired by the luxury hotels of the Riviera – including the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc. The ‘salty’, woody floral scent is meant to take you to a dip in the Mediterranean, which sounds pretty awesome right now.

Dyson Airwrap Multi Styler, $999

Whenever there’s a new Dyson release or update, the beauty world swoons — and for good reason. I’ve had my Dyson hair dryer for years and it’s one of the best – and most used – beauty products I own.

This update of the hugely popular Airwrap comes with six attachments, including a new wide-tooth comb brush, styling cylinders that can change direction and a redesigned Coanda smooth dryer that further aids air travel.

Chanel Le Vernis Limited Edition Nail Polish, $50

The French luxury brand has become known for its seasonal nail releases, which often dictate nail trends with their color focus. The latest is a cheerful range inspired by holidays in the sun: six luminous shades, including Pastel Sand (a pastel coral), Moon Shell (lilac) and Sea Sea Green.
