HOME experts have revealed how to use the three household items in a new way once they are done with them.
Kate, a TikTok user at @my_plastic_free_home, dedicates her social media account to sharing home eco tips and DIY tricks.
In one of his recent posts, Kate shared how to reuse and recycle tights, socks and toilet paper cardboard holders.
In the caption, she explained:[Here’s] Three things you’ve never thought of before that you can reuse around your home. “
Kate then showed how to upcycle each item and give it a new purpose at home.
First, she grabbed old tights and scissors before she said.
“Grab the scissors and cut the tight legs into 2-inch strips. You now have a snag-free hair tie.”
Kate then said that not only would it reduce the use of your plastic, but it would also save you money in the long run.
She continued. “This is great because you don’t have to buy a plastic bobble anymore.”
Similarly, Kate also showed how to give a new life lease to “old and perforated socks” and strange socks.
A social media star told her 145,000 followers:
“Honestly, I don’t know why dusters aren’t made this way. It’s very easy to use them to dust, and it’s also great for keeping dust out of your plants.”
Finally, Kate showed how to make the perfect sapling pot so that old toilet paper can grow the selected plants at home.
“Just put a slit in the end, fold it, put some soil in it, put some seeds in it, and leave!”
