Imbledon, the oldest tennis tournament in the world, returns on Monday for its 135th year.
The 2022 edition also commemorates 100 years of Center Court as we know it, on Church Road, the pinnacle of the grassland season.
Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal are the top two men selected, though people like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Carlos Alcaraz and Matteo Berretini will all be given their chances.
Iga Swiatek, world number 1, is at the head of the women’s seedlings and is on a fantastic winning streak of 35 matches – for the longest draw by a woman this century – but her field experience is limited, which means Ons Jabeur, Maria Sakkari, Coco Gauff and home favorite Emma Raducanu will sense an opportunity.
Here’s everything you need to know …
Date, start time and place
Wimbledon starts on Monday 27 June 2022 and lasts for the first time for 14 consecutive days until Sunday 10 July.
As always, there will be 18 grass fields in SW19 – from Center Court to Couty 18 (there is no lane 13).
