For the past three generations of flagships, the ZTE brand nubia has launched its premium smartphones at the beginning of the year, followed a few months later by a mild upgrade with a newer chipset.
This is happening again as the Red Magic 7 series continues to gain slightly more powerful siblings in the face of Red Magic 7S and Red Magic 7S Pro. The two new phones have now been certified on TENAA, and nubia decided that the secret isn’t worth hiding, so it unveiled the Pro variant and the date it will launch – July 11.

The listings on TENAA practically confirm that the chipset swap is the only difference. The Red Magic 7S keeps the same footprint, the 4,500 mAh battery and the 64 MP main shooter. Likewise, the 7S Pro will have a 5,000mAh cell, a large 6.8-inch OLED, and a whopping 18GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The images from nubia’s Weibo page show a white-red magic, something we haven’t had since last year’s 6S Pro. The semi-transparent back panel remains the same though – right down to the LED colored fan and all the fancy RPM and “Dao” writing.
