goggle box star Pete Sandiford choked while watching the queen’s crown is removed from atop her coffin during the service portion of her state funeral.

The 27-year-old fan favorite watched along with his sister Sophie as the Goggleboxers covered the the Queen’s funeral on Mondayincluding a service in London‘s Westminster Abbey before her body was taken to Windsor on its last journey to be buried in St George’s Chapel.

During the latter part of the service, Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8 at the age of 96 in Balmoral Castle, had the symbols of her monarchy, including the crown, sphere and sceptre presented to her at her coronation, removed by the Dean of Windsor.

As Pete watched the dean take on this task, he was visibly in tears and said, “That really upset me,” as Sophie held out his hand to support him.

Other members of the Gogglebox cast were also upset as they watched the footage, with Jenny and Lee feeling emotional during the proceedings and pondering that people would never see the Queen or hear her deliver a Christmas speech again.

In the previous episode, the bank critics had all been stunned Watch news coverage on the Queen’s deathwith Mary calling her “incomparable.”

After removing the crown, the wand above the coffin was broken by Lord Chamberlain, symbolizing the end of her reign, seconds before being lowered into the vault of the chapel.

The Goggleboxers then saw the Queen’s bagpiper play for Her Majesty one last time in a powerful moment.

Pete has spoken before about how he did that no plans to quit his job as a roofer, despite the glitzy life Gogglebox has afforded the likes of Scarlett Moffatt in the past.

At the Tric Awards in London in July, a stunned Pete said: ‘We just saw’ Eamonn Holmes.

“I’m just a builder from Blackpool, so it’s a little strange when celebrities know us. I was on a roof yesterday.’

He then insisted to The Sun that he must keep his job “to pay my mortgage somehow”, with Channel 4 paying its Goggleboxers £1,500 a month.

Gogglebox airs at 10 p.m. Friday on channel 4.
