Cyprus holiday dead: Man, 21, dead in Paphos pool while away with family | World | News

The 21-year-old was found unconscious in a hotel swimming pool yesterday. He was pulled from the water after those at the pool noticed he was not moving.

Despite attempts to save his life, the young man unfortunately died.

A lifeguard, along with other hotel staff, gave the man first aid while they waited for paramedics to arrive.

These were unable to regain his consciousness.

The man was found in the pool at 6 p.m. local time.

He was rushed to Paphos hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9pm.

The holidaymaker was incubated in the Intensive Care Unit, according to the Cyprus Mail.

The newspaper added that local police are now investigating the incident in the swimming pool.

An autopsy will be performed.

The identity of the young men remains private.
