Rafael Nadal looks to keep his bid for a Grand Slam calendar alive as he faces Taylor Fritz this afternoon in the quarterfinals. Despite extremely limited preparations on the lawn for Wimbledon, an ongoing battle with a chronic foot injury has left Nadal making it to the last eight and looking better and better as he made his way through the draw. A potentially tricky last-16 clash against Botic van de Zandschulp resulted in a straight-set win.
However, this is by far his toughest test yet, against a player in Fritz who hasn’t dropped a set throughout the tournament. The American arrived at SW19 after winning the title in Eastbourne and he has taken that form to Wimbledon. Fritz came out on top when the pair met in the Indian Wells final earlier this year.
Either Nick Kyrgios or Cristian Garin await the winner in the semi-finals, with Novak Djokovic and Cameron Norrie in the final four on the other side of the draw. Follow the action below live with Matt Verri at Wimbledon!
