at Garraway has said her husband Derek Draper is back in hospital after his Covid battle.
The Good Morning Britain host, 55, gave an update on his health on Wednesday while attending the Tric Awards in London.
“He’s okay, he’s actually back in the hospital, so that’s a development. There we are,’ she said to The Sun†
Ms Garraway has not disclosed why Mr Draper is in hospital.
The popular TV personality also praised their children Darcey (16) and Billy (12) for their support.
She added: “They’ve been amazing – all the way through.”
Draper contracted Covid in March 2020 and he is considered Britain’s longest-suffering Covid patient after spending 13 months in hospital.
In April 2021 he was finally allowed to go home.
His recovery, which requires 24-hour care and daily medication, is documented in two ITV films, Finding Derek and its follow-up, Caring For Derek.
The latest news comes after the broadcaster recently took to social media when her husband’s medicine kit was accidentally left in a taxi on Friday.
Thanks to a fan, Draper’s vital medicines were returned to the couple after a follower who knew the taxi driver contacted her following her public plea.
She also recently documented how their lives have changed since he was struck by the deadly virus.
In an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, she said: “When you almost lose someone, everything comes into focus.
“In many ways we are still learning how we are as husband and wife because so much has changed.
“It’s the same for the kids – they have to relearn what it’s like to be with their father. And of course the biggest learning curve is for poor Derek.”
