oris Johnson has been hit by a slew of outgoing governments as dozens of MPs say they have lost faith in his leadership.
In less than 24 hours, nearly 20 percent of Prime Ministerthe government had resigned.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid began the bout of resignation. He announced that he would resign just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, having lost faith in Johnson’s leadership.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak followed suit five minutes later, announcing that he had “reluctantly made the decision that we cannot go on like this”.
By the end of the day, 10 MPs on the government’s payroll had left their posts.
On Wednesday, more than 20 senior MPs followed suit and several formerly loyal backbenchers announced that they had also lost faith in their leader.
