Apple has the third developer beta of macOS Ventura version 13.0 for testing by those participating in the trial.

The latest builds can be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center for those enrolled in the testing program, or via a wireless update on devices running the beta software. Public betas usually arrive within a few days of the developer releases, via the Apple Beta Software Program website.

The second developer beta has landed on June 22while the first arrived after the WWDC keynote about June the 6th† The final public version will be released this fall.

The third beta is build number 22A5295h, replacing the second build, 22A5286j.

AppleInsiderand Apple itself, highly recommended users do not install the betas on “mission-critical” or primary devices as there is a small chance of data loss or other issues. Instead, testers should install betas on secondary or non-essential devices and make sure there are enough backups of important data before updating.

Below the incoming functions in macOS Ventura is Stage Manager for app management and multitasking, Live Captions for video, changes to Finder and system settings, improvements to Spotlight, Continuity Camera, Passkeys, changes to Messages and Safari, and a range of photo improvements, among other elements.

Members of the public wanting to try out the operating systems should at least wait for the public betas to begin rather than jump on the developer beta.
