President Buhari has sworn in the newly confirmed seven ministerial nominees.
The new ministers took the oath of office shortly before the start of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council on July 6 in the Council Chamber.
The president urged the new ministerial appointments to view their emergence as a devotion to duty requiring diligent service to the nation.
Those sworn in include Henry Ikoh (Abia), Umana Okon Umana (Akwa-Ibom), Udi Odum (Rivers), Ademola Adegoroye (Ondo), Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub (Kano), Goodluck Nana Opiah (Imo), and Ekumankama Nkama (Imo). Ebonyi).
The new ministers will replace those who have withdrawn their appointments to run for various elective positions during the 2023 general election in April.
A minute’s silence was observed before the council meeting in honor of outgoing OPEC secretary general Mohammed Barkindo who passed away on Tuesday evening, hours after meeting Buhari.
