President Buhari swore in the newly confirmed ministerial appointees today, July 6, and provided them with their various portfolios.
Recall that some members of the Federal Executive Council have dropped their nominations to compete in their party’s presidential primaries.
Notable among them were former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and Emeka Nwajiuba, former Minister of Education, former Minister of Niger Delta Affair Godswill Akpabio and Ogbonnaya Onu, former Minister of Science and Technology.
When sworn in, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo took over from Amaechi, while Goodluck Nanah Opiah is now Secretary of State for Education.
Adeleke Mamora, former State Minister of Health, is now State Secretary for Science and Technology, while Ummana Okon Umanna takes over Akpabio’s office.
