Volodymyr Zelensky hails ‘powerful’ weapons from the West as Russia heads for more losses | World | News

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, 44, gave a late-night speech revealing that Western weapons were beginning to cause serious problems for Russian forces in the ex-Soviet state. It is estimated that the UK has provided Ukraine with up to £2.3 billion in military aid.

In a clip featuring the Clash’s hit, “I Fought The Law,” Kiev thanked Boris Johnson and his Defense Secretary Ben Wallace for providing Ukraine’s troops with the N-Law anti-tank missile.

Wallace also confirmed the donation of M270 multiple launch missile systems with M31A1 precision ammunition to Ukraine on June 6.

Britain has also sent short-range Brimstone 1 missiles, Mastiff armored patrol vehicles, Malloy T150 heavy drones, Starstreak missiles and the Stormer HVM air defense system.

Last night, Mr. Zelensky said: “Finally it is felt that the western artillery – the weapons we received from our partners – started to work very vigorously.

“The accuracy is exactly as needed.

“Our defenders carry out very high profile attacks on depots and other places that are important for the logistics of the occupiers.

“And this significantly reduces the offensive potential of the Russian military.

“The occupiers’ losses will only increase every week, as will the difficulty of supplying them.”
