oris Johnson steps down as Tory leader after ministers and MPs made it clear that his position was untenable.
He stays as Prime Minister until there is a successor, expected by the time of the Conservative Party conference in October.
A No. 10 source said Mr Johnson with Sir . spoke Graham Bradychairman of the 1922 Conservative Committee, to inform him of his decision.
“The Prime Minister has spoken with Graham Brady and has agreed to step down in time to have a new leader before the October conference,” a source at No. 10 said.
