Coronation Street star Julia Goulding is currently pregnant with baby number two, meaning an exit is underway so the star can go on maternity leave.
The Shona Platt actress recently announced her pregnancy while on the red carpet British Soap Awards, rocking her belly while wearing a black dress.
Julia is already mother to Franklin Wolf, who was born in November 2019.
Julia revealed at the time that she and her husband Ben Silver told fans that Franklin “changed their lives forever.”
Due to the maternity leave Julia will be taking, the Corrie writers will have to create some sort of exit for her character Shona — something that happened before when the star was pregnant with her first baby.
Right now, Shona’s marriage to David (Jack P Shepherd) is in a very good place – but of course that could all change.
Will Shona and David face another relationship challenge in the coming months, forcing Shona to leave Weatherfield if things fall apart?
With the Platt family focused on Audrey’s (Sue Nicholls) decision to update her will, nothing currently airing points to an exit for Shona — but it’s still very early.
Of course, a failure in her marriage isn’t necessarily the way Shona leaves the cobblestones.
While Julia was pregnant with Franklin, Shona spent time in a rehab unit after getting caught up in the Christmas Day shootings with Gary (Mikey North) and Derek (Craig Els).
