The Islamic State in the Province of West Africa (ISWAP) has claimed responsibility for the attack on Kuje prison in Abuja on Tuesday evening, July 5.
In a video shared online Wednesday night, the terrorist showed some of his men shooting their way inside. In the 38 seconds of the video, dozens of fighters were seen in groups while vehicles and buildings were on fire.
An elderly man dressed in native clothing also joined the young men who shouted their voices.
Islamic State’s A’maq agency released the video with the caption: “Islamic State fighters attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and managed to free dozens of prisoners.”
The words were written in Arabic.
