Agents of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested six notorious suspects behind the dastardly robbery that took place at Mambillah Hotel, Owutu, Ikorodu on May 11, 2022.
The arrest of the suspects followed a meticulous, diligent and discreet investigation ordered and closely monitored by Lagos Police Commissioner CP Abiodun Alabi.
The suspects traced to their hideout at the Oju-irin slaughterhouse, in Lagos state, where they were eventually arrested, include Lekan Adeoye ‘m’, 19, Ojo Akeredolu ‘m’, 29, Quadri Balogun ‘m’ aged 23, Ahmed Oke ‘m’ 24, John Toluwalashe ‘m’ 23 and Azeez Akinpelu ‘m’ 20. The seventh suspect, Taye, was neutralized during a shootout with police officers. The items recovered from the suspects are two locally made pistols with 11 live cartridges.
It is recalled that the armed gang raided the Mambillah Hotel, robbed guests of their valuables and shot the hotel’s security guard in their attempt to escape after police arrived on the scene.
The spokesman for the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to newsmen and said the previously arrested supervisor and other hotel staff have since been released after further investigations cleared them of any guilt.
He added that the suspects will be arraigned in court as the investigation is currently being concluded.
