ONE PERSON has died with five injured after a van plowed violently through a crowd of runners.
The driver was engaged in The Bear Race in North Carolina when they rammed into the unsuspecting runners on Thursday.

Several victims were seriously injured and suffered broken bones after being hit.
The event took place around 6:50 p.m. ET in Linville.
The driver worked with the race to transport people up and down the mountainside, Linville Highway Patrol said.
The van accelerated the runners before hitting a 4×4 vehicle during the event, WSOC TV reported.
Troopers are still investigating the events leading up to the tragedy, but officials say there was no malicious or terrorist intent behind it.
