Governor Charles Soludo has denied claims of “budget” in the state.
Soludo said in a statement from his press secretary, Christian Aburime, that the peddlers of the claim were the ones who lost in the draining of the state treasury.
Noting that his government is oblivious to the diversions of those whose lucrative criminal enterprise is being smoked out by its renewed fight against all forms of crime in the state, the governor announced that he has declared a state of emergency on Anambra’s roads and infrastructure.
According to him, his government gives priority to infrastructure development. Soludo said he has allocated about 64 percent of the capital budget to infrastructure and has an ambitious goal of demarcating at least 220km of roads once the rains wane.

“This is the handiwork of losers and opponents alike. The misinformation should pity the suppliers in the face of the obvious ignorance boldly conveyed in every paragraph of the hasty bit of diversion.
“Bad as it is, no credible reporter has signed this and established it for what it is; lazy propaganda.
“We want to make the state a livable and prosperous smart mega-city by facing the infrastructural decay head on, such as in the area of roads that are clearly in deplorable condition.
“With this ambitious program and fully knowing that failure does not exist in our determined minds, the adversaries are lost and are raising the rallying cry for the sole purpose of trying to undermine our resolve with all forms of blackmail.
“They claimed that the works commissioner refused to appear before the state assembly to defend the budget. This is again the concoction of the unknown writers with the intention of creating resentment between the executive and the members of the House of Representatives.
“The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure was indeed the first Commissioner to appear before the House Committee on the first day of the budget defense exercise, June 29, 2022 at approximately 10:00 AM. This has been recorded and has been recorded by the press.”
