A family doctor and dermatologist have revealed the happy facial features that delay aging.
How fast are you? age depends on a number of factors – genetics, skin exposure, smoking and drinking.
No one is immune to the inevitable sagging, wrinkles and pigmentation of the skin over time.
But one of the more predictable indicators is the anatomy of your face, including bone structure, ligaments and fat.
And you’re in luck if you have high cheekbones or a square face, reveals Dr Raj Arora, an NHS GP and aesthetic dermatologist at The Facebible.

Hard corners (square shape)
A square face shape is fairly robust when it comes to aging, Dr. Raj FEMAIL†
“People with square faces have broad foreheads, angular jaws and strong cheekbones,” she said.
“Because the face is so well-structured, you don’t have to worry as much about aging. Your face will show signs of aging more slowly than others. †
dr. Raj noted: Angelina Jolie, Olivia Wildeand Sandra Bullock like square faces – and who can prove their amazing beauty?
Of course, celebrities also have the money and resources to invest in their beauty regimen than the average person.
High cheekbones (oval face)
High cheekbones are a desirable feature when it comes to aging as the face retains its shape better.
People with oval-shaped faces stay young thanks to “typically high cheekbones, balanced forehead and cheek proportions, and sharp contours,” said Dr. raj.
Celebrities with oval-shaped faces include: Rihanna† Katy Perry and Julia Roberts†
In oval-shaped people, the first signs of aging appear in the eye and cheek area, said Dr. Raj, including: “Crow’s feet” and eyelid cap.
Round cheeks (round face)
Round, plump cheeks come in handy when you’re starting to dissolve fat.
“There is usually a loss of volume and definition of the cheeks, leading to a hollow and tired face,” said Dr. raj.
“People with round faces tend to look younger for longer than others because they store fat on the cheeks and keep it there for a more youthful appearance.
“That’s why it takes longer to develop a dull and saggy complexion on round faces.”
While a strong angular face like Angelina Jolie’s will come in handy, a soft and round face is also beneficial.
dr. Raj said, “Celebrities with round faces include: Drew Barrymore† Mila Kunis and Isla Visser.†
Experts also said your skin type and color can affect aging.
Natali Kelli, a skin expert and beautician, said that people with oily skin retain moisture better, reducing the first signs of lines.
dr. Derrick Phillips, a dermatologist and esthetician, said dark skin is “protective and will delay wrinkles and some signs of skin aging.”
