Several techniques were suggested, but the most popular answers suggested using Coke to help shift the problem.
One woman said, “Use Coke in the toilet at night, but don’t flush until morning.”
A second commented: “A large bottle of Coke, pour it down the toilet and let it sit for at least 24 hours. Any coke is enough. I get mine from Aldi for only 47p.”
A third said: “Pour a liter of Coke in the toilet and leave it overnight. I found it worked better than using baking soda and white vinegar.”
Another user suggested: “Put the entire bottle of Coke in the toilet and leave it overnight or at least a few hours.
“I did this with my toilet which was covered in hard limescale and the stains were all gone in the morning without any scrubbing.”

A Facebook user revealed: “My son and daughter-in-law both get the same thing in their house and they both use Coke in the toilet at night and they’ve said it’s a treat.”
Another cleaning fan commented: “Cola dissolves the limescale. It is as cheap as potato chips and can be used on multiple items.”
What is a drink that many love, cola actually contains three acids – citric acid, tartaric acid and phosphoric acid.
Each of the acids helps remove common deposits such as limescale.

Surprisingly, Coke can contain more phosphoric acid than many cleaning sprays and not only is it an inexpensive method, but it is also quick and easy.
There is hardly any fuss involved and this fizzy drink can also remove limescale from other household surfaces such as shower heads, faucets and kettles.
