Gardaí is at the site of a fatal traffic accident between a car and a van that happened at about 7:30 this morning.
The collision took place on the N10 at Templemartin between the Hebron Road roundabout and the M9 motorway in County Kilkenny.
The female driver (aged 40) of the car involved in this collision died on the spot. A female passenger in this car (1950s) was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny with non-life-threatening injuries.
The male driver of the van, in his forties, was taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny with serious injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The road is currently closed and a technical investigation is underway by Forensic Collision Investigators. There are local diversions.
Gardaí calls on any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
All road users who may have CCTV footage (including dash cam) driving on the N10 near Templemartin between the Hebron Road roundabout and the M9 motorway between 7am and 7:45am are requested to make this footage available to Gardaí.
