The midfielder will join the Spurs squad as one of five substitutions from the team that lost 2-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Cristian Romero or Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are not in the Tottenham squad.

Emerson Royal, Davinson Sanchez, Clement Lenglet and Ryan Sessegnon also join the team.
The Spurs are still missing forwards Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.
There is a change at right-back, with Royal available again after suspension and straight back in for Matt Doherty. Ryan Sessegnon replaces Ivan Perisic on the other flank.
On the left central defender, Clement Lenglet is a direct trade for Ben Davies.
