if you thought Katie PriceHis music career was over, well you could be wrong as the star has been in the studio.
The former glamor model teased a return to music after she entered the studio with Scarlett Lee, a former x Factor contestant who finished second to Dalton Harris on the show in 2018.
And it looks like we won’t have long to wait to hear what they’re cooking, as the duo hinted at a Christmas tune.
Katie, mum of five, tagged her venue as The Cave Music Studio in Fareham, Hampshire and shared a photo from the booth.
The I’m A Celebrity icon, in headphones and with a notepad and pen in hand, was in full popstar mode, standing behind the microphone as she discussed ideas with Scarlett.
‘Dreams become reality. Never give up. Scarlett, you are beautiful inside and out and an amazing singer and songwriter. I’m just so excited,” Katie wrote on her Instagram story, sharing her joy of being back in a recording studio.
Later on on her own Instagram story, Scarlett, 25, posted a photo of the vocals they had put down, but kept the suspense by covering the screen with a Santa hat sticker.
Scarlett wrote: ‘Everyone likes a rumor. We love a Christmas song, don’t we @katieprice @thecave.music.’
With Christmas only 63 days away (who’s counting?) it might not be long before we hear some of Katie’s new music, although it remains uncertain how it will sound – we’re getting an All I Want For Christmas is You a bit of luck? Or an East 17 Stay Another Day ballad? Time will tell…
This isn’t the first time Katie, 44, has suggested a return to music, as she recently told fans she was “getting ready” to drop an entire album.
Katie reposted a clip of friend DJ Rick Live playing some of her old tunes in Ibiza and wrote on Instagram in September: ‘Getting ready to release a new album soooon, @iamricklive thanks for your patience’ followed by a love heart emoji.
As a refresher, Katie’s music career reached mega heights in 2005 when she came second in the selection contest to represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest.
She missed Javine and the song Touch My Fire, which finished 22nd with 18 points.
The following year, Katie and their then-husband Peter Andre released their collaboration album, A Whole New World.
Katie and Peter recorded the songs at their private recording studio in Surrey after the Mysterious Girl hitmaker was dropped from his label and decided to give his family over his career.
However, the former couple released their joint album and it sold 100,000 copies in the UK but didn’t achieve much success, so Katie and Peter were removed from the new label, Absolute Marketing and Universal Music Group.
Then, in July 2010, Katie released Free to Love Again, a non-album single.
About the song’s release at the time, she said, “I’m not a singer, this is just something I do for fun. It’s not that I’m worried about hitting a chart or number one, this is just for fun. Whether people like it or not, I do it.’
She loved music so much that she tried again in 2017 and released her single I Got U, which didn’t go big.
Her most recent effort was in 2020 with a song called Heartbroken.
So, could her upcoming Christmas tune with Scarlett be Katie’s moment?
