Okay and metal music titans slip knotBring me the horizon and Metallica will headline the 20th anniversary Download festival, the organizers have announced.
The 2023 festival will feature four headline sets for the first time, when it returns to Donington Parkin Leicestershirein June.
Metallica will deliver two “no-repeat” performances on Thursday and Saturday, with BMTH as the headliner on Friday and Slipknot on Saturday.
The three bands will be joined by over 60 other British and international heavyweights, including Evanescence, Parkway Drive, Disturbed, Pendulum, Asking Alexandria and many more.
Metallica are returning to the festival after more than a decade of absence, saying they were “next level honored” to be invited back to the “sacred grounds” of Donington Park.
Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes said: “Download Festival was one of the first festivals I ever attended as a punter.
“It was our first great festival experience to play as a band, and now to headline such a prestigious event amazes me.
“We can’t wait to bring a whole new sound and show to the Download audience.”
Andy Copping of Download Festival added: “This year marks a huge milestone for Download, celebrating the festival’s incredible 20 years is no small feat.
“We really wanted to kick it up a notch for this special anniversary and add an extra day for fans to experience the unforgettable line-up, which is once again bringing unparalleled talent from the rock music scene back to Donington Park.”
General tickets for Download Festival will go on sale online on Thursday, November 10 at 10:00 AM.
