Police are investigating a fatal crash in the King Country (file photo).
A person has died after their car crashed into a river in the King Country.
Emergency services were notified on Monday around 07:40 of a vehicle that was under water along Napinapi Rd, Te Mapara, near Piopio.
A body was found in the vehicle.
The Serious Accident Unit attended it and inquiries about the circumstances of the accident continue.
The vehicle was removed from the scene.
