Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures and Wowow Ink Anime co-production partnership – The Hollywood Reporter

Anime special service Crunchyrol joins forces with Sony Pictures and Japanese pay TV channel Wowow to boost the output of the original anime series. The three partners unveiled a pact on Thursday to collaborate on new content.

The partners said the series produced under the pact will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in Japan, while launching on Crunchyroll in the more than 200 other countries and territories where the platform operates. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The first joint project of the three companies will be the fantasy adventure series Goodbye, Earthbased on a Japanese bestseller by Tow Ubukata (RWBY: Ice Queen; Ghost in the Shell: Get up). The story follows Bell’s journey in her search for her roots, discovering adventures and conflicts along the way.
