WHEN it comes to weddings, there is one rule that stands out above the rest: only the bride wears white.
So a mother of the groom has sparked controversy with the outfit she chose for her son’s wedding.
Nikita took to TikTok to share a video of the ensemblewriting, “My mother for my brother’s wedding.”
She began the video by showing off her mom’s gorgeous jeweled heels, before showing off the dress’s thigh-high slit, bejeweled top, and train.
Her platinum blonde hair was curled and she wore an extravagant hat.
And she completed her look with a matching bag, diamond jewelery and perfect make-up.
But the comment section quickly became filled with people insisting the woman was out of order in white at her son’s wedding.
“Beautiful, but I thought it was a bride,” one wrote.
“It’s the guts for me,” added another.
“The disrespect,” raged a third.
As someone else commented, “You come in white on my day. It’ll be rosy red before I walk down the aisle.”
“Wrong on all levels…” wrote another.
As another woman commented, “Yes no: I was so offended that my mother-in-law wore white and a nicer dress than me at the wedding.
“What’s worse is that she bought me the original dress so she knew.
“You are not the bride, let your BRIDE shine this once.”
However, Nikita hit back at the critics, writing, “Her clothes are ivory, not white.”
“Still too close to the bride’s colors,” someone replied.
