Diddy looked back on his prestigious career while winning the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards Ceremony on Sunday.
The segment started with a medley studded with hit stars where music superstars are credited. These include Jodeci’s “Come and Talk to Me,” Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Goin’Down,” Puff Daddy’s “Victory,” Shyne’s “Bad Boyz,” and Puff Daddy’s “It’s All About the Benjamins.” P. Diddy’s “I Need a Girl (Part Two)”, Busta Rhymes’ “Pass the Courvoisier, Part II”, Diddy’s “Gotta Move On”, Puff Daddy and Faith Evans’ “I’ll Be Missing You”.
Among the performers on the stage of Medley were Diddy, Lil’Kim, and Blige. In addition, a moving image of Kim Porter, a former partner of Diddy who died in 2018, was also introduced.
Before Diddy went on stage, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds introduced a humorous anecdote about a star learning skiing. He concludes with: “Don’t sleep in Puffy. He’s a serious and wonderful producer.
Kanye “Ye” West, who wore a mask covering her entire face, also gave a speech and remembered listening to “Benjamin” many times. “This is my favorite artist. I have this dream of quitting. I have this dream that we are rich and wealthy and live in the same block. I not only talk about the stage, but unite us. Had this dream — we know our community and our allies. If you are with us, don’t shut up. Put money in the game. “
The star went on to say he was donating $ 1 million to Howard University, the school he once attended.
In a previously released statement, BET CEO Scott Mills said Diddy “is a pioneer in our community, breaking barriers, achieving unprecedented heights, paving the way for new paths and doing so. That raised the bar for all of us. “
Previous winners of this award include Blige, Prince, Whitney Houston, Queen Latifah and Lionel Richie.
