KIM Kardashian has been criticized for her “terrible” treatment of an animal.
Fans discovered her re-emerged photo which they immediately called “disturbing,” if not “bad.”
Kim, 41, posed with a furry friend in a way that didn’t seem friendly to her fans.
“Picture from my shoot yesterday…good cat!” she blissfully captioned an image from 2010 Twitter†
The then-Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, three seasons in, wore a low-cut black top in a dressing room.
She dropped her tall, then-brunette over her shoulders and gripped a black cat by the scruff of the neck.
According to the SPCA“To pick up a kitten, people should pick it up gently with one hand supporting the front/chest and the other under its hind legs/buttocks.
“It’s also important to never pick up a kitten by its neck.”
It seemed that’s exactly what Kim was doing, as a stream of outraged fans soon pointed out.
The disturbing image ended up on Reddit Sunday, where more than 100 users couldn’t believe it was still up, or if it was happening at all.
‘DISTURBING’
“Omfg that poor cat,” one began.
Another wrote: “That’s not cool. A lot of people think you can lift a cat like this, but you shouldn’t.
“It’s less harmful when they’re young and have less body weight, but it’s not necessary.”
A third clawed, “Kim’s an asshole for this. That cat should have scratched her face.”
A fourth complained, “Poor baby, you can tell he’s stressed and unhappy.”
A fifth wondered, “Imagine losing her grip. Yes, mothers carry such kittens when the kittens weigh a few ounces, not when they’re that big. And they don’t dangle them five feet in the air!”
A sixth called her “sinister,” while another wrote, “Why take a picture grabbing a kitten like that?”
“It’s a bad message and it makes no sense and it’s… kind of disgusting.”
“We all know the track record of this family with pets,” snapped another.
SAD-LE SC .NE
Many Kardashians have pets, but they don’t flaunt as regularly as their respective famous figures.
Kendall Jenner, 26, recently shared an Instagram story grinning while on horseback, seemingly multitasking.
The video followed the millennial as she wore her hair in French braids in a white T-shirt and cowboy boots as she rode a dark brown horse.
But as she rode her horse, she still walked with her leashed dog Pyro, who followed him and even stopped as they went on.
The Doberman Pinscher, per British VOGUEhas been part of the family since 2018, and fans couldn’t believe the “dangerous” video.
“Poor dog! You’re going to kill that poor thing, it’s so dangerous to have him on a leash riding a million pound horse, sigh,” one fan muttered as the video made its way to Reddit.
As Horse Rookie blogged, walking a dog while riding a horse has been documented as dangerous.
“Leashing your dog while trail riding may seem like a good way to keep him from wandering off, but it’s actually a really bad idea.
“The leash can get caught in your horse’s legs, trapping your dog and creating a very dangerous situation for anyone. You could also be pulled off the horse and injured.”
Kendall also once shared an image of her pup in a restrictive prong collar, and one fan raised concerns on Instagram: “Prong collars should be the last resort used to train your dog!”
THOUGHTFUL
Kim and sister Kourtney Kardashian came under fire from animal rights groups in 2018 after they posted videos of themselves playing with marmosets.
“They lick me wearing a skimpy white bikini,” Kim said in an Instagram clip facing forward as the monkeys ran around the interior of her $60 million home.
As Babe.net reported, “it is illegal to have a monkey as a pet in California, and acquiring a monkey involves killing entire families to get the cubs.”
dr. Erin Vogel of Rutgers University told the outlet: “Celebrities should spend more time promoting the conservation of the endangered habitats of these animals rather than taking ‘cute’ photos or videos for Instagram. It’s terrible.”
PETA told the Daily Mail that marmosets live naturally in trees and need “large, close-knit social groups.”
It’s unclear if Kim and her sister wanted to adopt the monkeys, but the wild species is not intended to be domesticated.
They walked all over her furniture in one image and seemed to scream – they didn’t seem to be supervised by a handler.
DISCONNECTED
Meanwhile, Kim owns three Pomeranian dogs, named Saké, Soba, and Sushi – although they are rarely seen in photos or make hair model-esque, deliberately curated Instagram.
She also got a white cat in 2021 that is not seen much.
Kim was given a cat named Mercy as a gift from her ex-husband Kanye West in 2012, but after a few weeks she developed allergies to it and was forced to give it away.
The cat unfortunately died shortly after at four months old.
