The Lofi Girl channel is a popular live stream of soothing music, perfect for studying.
YouTube promises it will restore the endless relaxing music live streams on the Lofi Girl channel after they were taken down over a false copyright claim.
The channel has had two live streams since 2017 – “lofi hip-hop radio – beats to relax/study to” and the “lofi hip-hop radio – beats to sleep/chill” – which have a total of nearly 800 million views.
After streaming non-stop for two years, the Lofi Girl account announced on Sunday that their videos had been taken down after “false copyright warnings”.
NBC reported that YouTube’s copyright policy states:“Creators are only allowed to upload videos that they have created or are allowed to use.”

Lofi Girl told TechCrunch, “all of the channel’s music is released through its record label, Lofi Records, so they have the necessary rights to share it,” so it doesn’t violate copyright laws.
The platform responded to Lofi Girl on Twitter Monday, saying that the missing livestream videos should be restored within 24 to 48 hours.
The account has a devoted following of students who appreciate the relaxed atmosphere environment in which to study and sleep. Some argue that they cannot go about their day without being soothed by the music.
Twitter users gathered for returns on the streams using the hashtag #BringBackLofiGirl.
“There are days when this channel is the only thing that helps me stay focused and fairly positive in my day-to-day work,” one wrote.
Many others hoped the incident would inspire YouTube to make changes to the “broken” copyright system.
Something similar happened to the Lofi Girl account in 2020, when video streamed since 2017 was taken down under similar claims.
