WAYNE and Coleen Rooney were “oceans apart” last night after flying to America for a managerial job while vowing to stay in the UK with their four children.
Former Manchester United and England star was pictured landing on Washington’s Dulles airport to discuss a £1m-a-year role as boss of his old MLS club DC United.

He flew to the US on Sunday, after Coleen36, had exposed the tensions in their marriage and how she was so homesick in America that she often cried herself to sleep.
Rooney, also 36, would like take the job to continue his managerial career, but friends of the couple fear it will put even more strain on their troubled marriage.
A source said: “Wayne has discussed the job with Coleen but she has categorically said she is not going.
“That said, she doesn’t want to get in his way. They understand that they are a team, but emotionally she is not involved.
“A lot has gone back and forth, but they now agree that they disagree.
“The kids are in school and don’t want to go back to America, so they plan to stay with their mother in Cheshire.
“It will be very difficult for everyone as a managerial job takes a lot more time than being a player, so returning to the UK will be difficult.”
The couple married in 2008 and have four sons — kai12, Casfour, Klaynine, and kit, six. But they found life difficult when they moved to Washington DC in June 2018.

In February 2019, he had a drunken night out with a barmaid during a training camp in Florida.
He was also pictured outside a Hooters bar, famous for their sexy waitresses in revealing clothes.
His behavior has reportedly been the trigger for Coleen to demand that he return home in 2019.
During the Wagatha Christie libel trial earlier this year, Coleen shared how she “cryed every night” after the family moved to the US.
