ERIK ten Hag has maintained that he is not completely happy with his Manchester United side, despite their 4-0 thrashing of Liverpool in a pre-season game.
The new boss supervised a dream start of his reign as the Red Devils ran rampant in the friendly match in Bangkok.
While United fielded the stronger team, there were moments that made fans purr and excited for the new era.
Despite the positive points, Ten Hag said that despite the victory, there is still work to be done.
The Dutch boss told MUTV: “I know we have good players, now we have to put together a team. I am happy with the first game.
“It will take a lot of time [to get this team playing my way]† I have seen many mistakes today. Let’s face it, Liverpool are playing in three teams who weren’t at their strongest.
“We should not overestimate this result, but I have seen really good things. We have a lot of creativity and speed up front. Like I said, we have potential.”
Ten Hag’s unflattering review comes after his heavy penalty drills for the players in training were revealed.
Despite being put to the test by their new boss, the squad looked fit and eager to blow Liverpool away.
Jadon Sancho opened the scoring after 12 minutes when he fired a shot into the far corner.
