One person has died after a vehicle swept into the flooded Silver Stream in North Taieri, just outside Dunedin.
Emergency services were called to the scene and a helicopter was dispatched shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
A spokesman for Roslyn Fire Station said there were three people in the vehicle.
Two were rescued and taken to Dunedin hospital, while the third person’s body was later found.
