The 150th Open Championship kicks off Thursday morning as the last major of the year kicks off at St Andrews†
It’s already been a memorable start to the week at the Home of Golf, with the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Lee Trevino getting involved in Monday’s celebrations.
Paul Lawrie has the honor of making the tournament opening turn at 6:35am BST on Thursday to get things going, before the other 155 players in the field begin their opening rounds over the next ten hours.
Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari are back together, four years after their Ryder Cup exploits, as they are grouped with Justin Rose. The trio of Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroyXander Schauffele is sure to attract a lot of attention in St Andrews when they tee off at 9:58am.
In the afternoon, Scottie Scheffler gets his bid for a second major title of the year, along with Tyrell Hatton and Joaquin Niemann.
There is also the small matter of Tiger Woods, on his favorite golf course in the world. He will play the first two rounds with US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick and Max Homa.
