A woman who picked up a dollar from the ground ended up in the hospital and nearly died.
Renee Parsons said she was on her way to a conference in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and two children when they stopped at a McDonald’s in Bellevue, Tennessee.
Parsons saw some money on the floor and decided to take it, according to… WKRN†
“I see a dollar bill on the floor. I thought absolutely nothing of it – I picked it up,” Parsons wrote on Facebook.
She immediately started to feel sick.
“My body went completely numb, I could barely talk and I could barely breathe,” Parsons said.
“It’s almost a burning sensation, if you will. It starts here at your shoulders, and then it just goes away because it numbs most of your body.”
Her husband, Justin, told of the horrific scene.
She hadn’t said anything for a while and then she said, ‘Justin, I’m sorry. I love you.” Then she just stopped talking,” he said. “She looked like she was dying. She was definitely unconscious and very pale.”
Before losing consciousness, Renee apparently grabbed her husband’s arm with the same hand she used to retrieve the money. Shortly after, Justin’s arm reacted with a rash and his lips went numb.
Justin managed to drive his wife to St. Thomas Ascension Hospital at 95 miles per hour, according to News channel 5†
Renee’s symptoms resolved after about four hours and she was discharged after an accidental drug overdose, according to WSMV†
Justin, who served on the police force for years, thinks the dollar his wife took off the ground was laced with fentanyl.
However, a Metro Nashville police officer who went to the emergency room said she had not been exposed to fentanyl because she did not need Narcan to perform CPR. In addition, preliminary tests showed no drugs in her system.
Still, Renee thinks she’s been exposed to drugs.
“What I do know is how I felt, what happened. It cannot be made up,” she said.
“The (moral), I don’t care if it’s a $20 bill or a $100 bill, don’t touch it!!!”
