MARLON Dingle has been recovering from his stroke for several months and things are finally looking good for him.
The Emmerdale chef is ready to marry Rhona Goskirk – but is he as happy as he makes out?
Rhona Goskirk (played by Zoe Henry) has found the love of her life in the form of Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and is ready to walk down the aisle with him.
But to do that, she had to give him time to recover from… his horrific stroke and the healing process has not been easy for the professional chef.
Next week, Marlon is slowly adjusting to the world outside Smithy Cottage, but he still finds it difficult to leave his home.
It all starts when his fiancé is first hesitant when her best friend Vanessa Woodfield proposes a party to celebrate their engagement.
Rhona cuts it, leaving Marlon dubious and though he remains nervous about going back to The Woolpack for the first time since his stroke, he admits.
Fortunately, Marlon is not alone, as he gets support from Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt) who initially found it difficult to be present for him.
Marlon is reassured that everything will be okay and later that day he and Rhona arrive at the local pub for their engagement party.
Everything seems fine when Marlon arranges a declaration of love for Rhona and everyone cheers.
But as mentioned above, this would be the first time Marlon has returned to The Woolpack since suffering his stroke.
Does he keep a brave front?
While that remains to be seen, Marlon’s storyline has left fans on the edge of their seats and angry at times.
Marlon’s physiotherapist Kit (played by Thoren Ferguson) has come under fire in recent scenes of Emmerdale after being accused of push Marlon too far in his recovery.
He eventually came to an agreement with his patient and asked him to teach him how to cook to help him pick up his motor skills again.
But is Marlon really happy with his recovery and his life with Rhona?
Emmerdale is broadcast on weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
