The Nothing Phone 1 has finally been fully unveiled, with one of its standout features being the LED light array on the rear. This isn’t much of a game-changing feature, but it does light up for notifications, charging, and other tasks.

This means that the phone must be placed face down if you want to get the most out of these lighting effects. That made me wonder how many people put their phone face down on a surface in the first place. That’s the topic of our poll this week, so let us know in the poll below.

Aside from not wanting to be distracted by a screen in the first place, some phones even have a flip-to-silence feature that turns on silent mode when the phone detects it’s lying face down on a surface. . So there are certainly practical reasons to put your phone down like this.

I can’t speak for anyone who prefers to place their phone screen up on a surface rather than screen down, but I prefer doing this because I’m still concerned about scratches on the screen (although Gorilla Glass means that this shouldn’t be a major concern anymore). It also means I can see who is calling even when the phone is on silent.
