PMQs: Why do MPs wear white flowers these days? † UK | News

Boris Johnson will once again lead the Conservative PMQs on Wednesday, despite a leadership contest already underway. MPs on both sides of the House of Representatives chose to take the opportunity to publicize the charity Remembering Srebrenica.

The Prime Minister answered questions from MPs with a new front seat.

Seven days ago, cabinet secretaries Sajid Javid and Rishi Sunak announced their resignation, sparking a slew of government changes.

During the session on Wednesday afternoon, MPs were seen wearing white flowers.

The lapel is a representation of the charity Remembering Srebrenica; an organization that draws attention to the Bosnian Muslim genocide in Srebrenica.

The charity is co-funded by the UK government and aims to tackle hate around the world.

The 1995 Bosnian genocide involved the murder of more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys.

The ‘ethnic cleansing’ of the Serbs included extermination, unlawful imprisonment, assault, torture and destruction of private property.

In 2005 it was agreed that Serbian policy amounted to genocide.

The leader of the West Minister of the Scottish National Party, Sir Ian Blackford, is a patron of Remembering Srebrenica.

He said, “I am honored to be the patron of Remembering Srebrenica.

“I have had the opportunity on a number of occasions over the past few years to meet the survivors of that horrific genocide and it is harrowing to listen to their experiences, about what has happened to their community.

“We must not forget the injustice, the inhumanity inflicted on the people of Srebrenica.”
