Did you hear that? It’s just the sound of I’ve completely lost itBayonetta 3This morning’s launch date was confirmed as October 28. The only way this could be more perfect is if Nintendo chooses to activate our witches on Halloween itself.

Nintendo has released a new trailer for the game showing the launch date. For the record, October 28 is the same release date as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Maybe I shouldn’t screw up, but honestly… I’m betting on Bayonetta in that matchup. The gameplay looks like: fierce as ever, with Bayonetta showing off her newfound Demon Masquerade abilities, as well as her direct control over her demonic compatriots.

The trailer revealed a little more about the game’s story: Bayonetta has to do with the Homunculi, a man-made threat detached from demons and angels. She is assisted in this by her sister Jeanne and old friends Luka, Rodin and Enzo. She is also joined by a new person named Viola, a witch in training who will be playable for at least short segments. I could speculate with you about hour about the potential revelations this has for the story, but I’ll save that for Kaser Focus.

However, I will point out a little bit from the game’s UK page: The game will feature “a virtual coven of Bayonettas, each one more fantastic than the next.” I don’t know what that means yet, but more Bayonetta is always good. October can’t come soon enough for me.
