Local groups, from the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra to the Otago Sports Car Club, have received part of a $922,400 funding increase from Dunedin City Council.
The council has announced its July 2022 funding round, which will come from its city service, city project, major community events and leading event funds.
Grants have been awarded to 35 groups, including those that contribute to the city’s vibrancy, economy and social connection.
Grants Subcommittee Chair and Deputy Mayor Christine Garey said the demand for funding was growing and not every request could be met, but the council continued to support a wide variety of services, activities and events on behalf of the city.
