Netflix appoints Microsoft as Ad Sales and Tech Partner – The Hollywood Reporter

The bake-off to find Netflixinauguration commercial break partner is over, and Microsoft is the winner.

The tech giant will become Netflix’s global advertising technology and sales partner, the streaming service said on Wednesday.

“Microsoft has the proven ability to support all of our ad needs as we work together to build a new ad-supported offering. More importantly, Microsoft provided the flexibility to innovate over time, both in technology and sales, as well as strong privacy protections for our members,” Netflix COO and chief product officer Greg Peters wrote in a blog post.

The deal with Microsoft will allow Netflix to quickly enter the ad space, though Peters warned it’s still “early” for its ad-supported offerings.
